Janay is a Student Saving Summerby CBCC
Meet Janay. Janay is a senior at Anson High School whose fearless drive is matched only by her compassion for others. Janay has Sickle Cell Disease. She understands firsthand why donating blood that stays local matters. That's why she's hosting a blood drive of her own this summer.
“Being a recipient of blood transfusions every four weeks for the last seven years for my Sickle Cell Disease gives me a personal reason for hosting a student blood drive,” she said. “I am thankful for this selfless act performed so many times by perfect strangers.
You can support Janay’s student blood drive by giving blood for those living with Sickle Cell and other local patients. Stop by the Walmart in Wadesboro from 1-5 p.m. on July 25.
CBCC believes that students like Janay are part of a generation with big potential and even bigger hearts. So, we're awarding five $1,000 scholarships this summer to driven and compassionate students who host successful blood drives.
