Levine Children's Hospital Puppy Deliveryby CBCC
Judging by all the smiles, our first puppy delivery of the 2017 Puppies for Patients season was a huge success!
On Nov. 29, Maureen O’Boyle from WBTV and Matthew East from Spectrum News joined CBCC’s marketing team at Levine Children’s Hospital to spread some holiday cheer, courtesy of our incredibly thoughtful and generous donors.
We had the pleasure of hand-delivering dozens of plush puppies, each complete with tags signed by blood and platelet donors throughout the month. Donors use the tags to send messages of love and hope to their tiny recipients, brightening a potentially bleak holiday season for those spending it in the hospital.
During our first stop in the physical therapy room, Maureen was greeted with a huge hug from a sweet little girl who named her new pup Diamond. In the pediatric surgery waiting room, we visited with parents and families and made sure to leave behind puppies to greet the brave little boys and girls when they came out of surgery.
These are the days that remind us why we do what we do. The smiles on those little faces were there because of volunteer donors and sponsors in our community. People just like you who gave a little of their time to make a life-changing difference in the lives of patients in need. And they truly are making a difference.
