Amanda was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia. This disease affects the oxygen-carrying capabilities of the blood, which deprives the body’s tissues and organs of the oxygen they need to stay healthy.
She needed a complete red cell exchange once a month. After years of these life-saving transfusions, she received a bone marrow transplant.
Amanda and her family thank local donors like you for saving her life.
CBCC is the primary blood supplier to the region’s patients and hospitals. Every drop stays here. Saving local lives.
